Are you unsure if the CE RoHS II Directive applies to your product? The 1st step is toanswer these two questions:
-
Do you want to sell your product in the European Union? If yes
- Is it an electrical product? The RoHS II Directive only applies to electrical products.
If you make an electrical product and you sell it in the European Union, it is very likely that
your product must comply with the RoHS II Directive. For a couple of product types, the RoHS
II Directive is not mandatory until July of 2019. There are also a few product types that are
exempt.
A list of the product types that must comply with the RoHS II Directive is provided below. What
type number is your product? Only Types 9 & 11 have future effective dates. The RoHS II
Directive is already mandatory for all other product types – it must be included on your
Declaration of Conformity (DoC) and in your Technical Construction File (TCF).
